About Tee Tate: Editor, Writer, and Devoted Minion to a Feline Overlord

Tee Tate is an author, editor, and problem-solver for unruly plots. As an in-house and freelance editor, she has worked with debut, award-winning, and New York Times bestselling authors across genres from epic fantasy to cozy mystery, helping stories find their sharpest edge while keeping their heart intact. A proud member of SFWA, she brings an editor’s precision, a writer’s empathy, and just enough humor to make the process both productive and enjoyable.

Not every story needs an editor in the room. If you’re working through an unruly plot on your own, you can find my tools and templates here.

Tee Tate is a recovering corporate drone turned full-time word wrangler, happily tangled in plot threads and coaxing commas into line. With more than 15 years in publishing, she’s worked with everyone from New York Times bestselling authors to Nebula winners, and still has a soft spot for wild manuscripts with too much backstory and a dream.

As Eden Butler, she’s published more than thirty indie novels, building a loyal readership and a deep understanding of what keeps readers turning pages. These days, she’s focused on new work as Tee, writing cozy fantasy with bite, epic fantasy with grit, and the occasional whisky-soaked cozy mystery where lifelong friends trade banter while solving murders.

Tee is passionate about storytelling craft and quietly competitive about snacks. She lives in Louisiana with her husband, a mostly empty nest, and two feline overlords who, she suspects, conduct late-night boxing matches when she’s asleep, usually after supervising all her creative projects from the keyboard.

If you’re looking for an editor who understands both the craft and chaos of writing, you can explore Tee’s Editing Services page.
